It's been too long, I know. But hopefully I can apease you with lots of pictures that cover the last 2 months of my life!
I started off 2007 with a FABULOUS trip back to Maui. We'd all been there in 2005 and loved it so much, we begged to go back! I think this year's trip was even better than 2005!
Cheeseburger in Paradise
I drew the short straw and had to accompany the "old folks" on the day trip to Pearl Harbor
The USS Missouri - The Mighty Mo
Raising the flag on the Pearl Harbor Memorial
Our last meal on Maui
The $800 voucher I procured by volunteering my seat on the plane
I came home from that trip tan and happy, only to be greeted by one of the coldest winters I can remember. I am talking about below zero temperatures for weeks, not days. The annual "get ready for RAGBRAI" ride, aptly named the BRR Ride (short for Bike Ride to Rippey) was so cold that we didn't even bother getting our bikes out of the garage. Sparkle and I talked our friend Kick into going over to enjoy some of the other festivities with us.
Ran into an old friend from the Theta days at Iowa State
Kick and his "girls"
There were still a few hundred people dumb enough to ride in minus 10 degree weather
After we got through the miserable bitter cold days, then came the massive amounts of snow. I made it out of the midwest between storms to go see Lolo and Soso and do some skiing. The girls were about 13 months while I was there. They are getting MUCH bigger, but not so big that they are ready to walk yet.
The Monkeys
They got ponytails at daycare!
I think Lauren looks like the little girl in "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!"
Aunt Julie loves Lolo and Soso
Thanks to Steve, Tina, and Vanessa, we got some more Meet and Greet passes to the Dierks Bentley concert the following weekend. It was fun to see him again and get some new pictures with him (and his new haircut!).
Team Satisfied post-concert at the Whiskey River
During all this, I took SCUBA diving classes and will be heading to Tampa, Florida over Memorial Day weekend to finish my certification. I am gearing up for the start of my running group - Team 12.4 and all that goes with that. I am also planning a trip to Chicago for a fitness conference, trying to get organized for a garage sale before Sparkle moves away, and getting ready for a new traithlon season! Busy, busy, busy!
